HRC Year End Recognition Awards Here is a list of all the year end awards and the specs used to determine the recipients. Year End Recognition Awards   "All Eligible Recipients of the Recognition and Memorial Awards Must Be HRC Members in Good Standing." ~WAYNE ROSE MEMORIAL AWARD~ Awarded to the HIGH POINT 12yr. & Under Walk/Trot Division HRC rider.  Originally donated by the Elias Family in memory of Wayne Rose who was active in the Hanson Riding Club, and had a special place in his heart for children.   ~LEANN EDELMAN MEMORIAL AWARD~ This returning "Challenge Trophy" is awarded to the WALK/TROT/CANTER DIVISIONS HIGHEST POINTED EQUITATION RIDER.  Points are based the rider, (who could have ridden in multiple w/t/c divisions, and on different horses). Originally donated by Evelyn McPhee and the Edelman family in memory of Leann Edelman, a young and brilliant horsewoman who is dearly missed in this horse community. ~NANCY WHELAN MEMORIAL AWARD~ Awarded to the HIGH POINT WALK/TROT DIVISION  HRC rider who has competed in at least one HRC Show, and one HRC Judged Trail Ride on the same horse.  Donated by the Hanson Riding Club in fond memory of HRC member, Nancy Whelan, a lovely horsewoman who passionately competed in HRC Shows and Trail Rides, and loved sharing her knowledge and love for horses with fellow enthusiasts. ~JIM'S LI'L CHICO MEMORIAL CHALLENGE AWARD~ Awarded to the overall HIGH POINT LEAD LINER from either age group division, and with points accumulated in Lead Line Equitation and Suitability classes. This returning " Perpetual Challenge Trophy" has been donated by Rita Bryant and Balmes Family in loving memory of a very special horse who touched their lives for over 16 years.   Jim's Li'l Chico, "Chico", a kind, gentle, and trustworthy appaloosa gelding, carried many youngsters into their first show, (never missing a Hanson Riding Club show), gaining their confidence, and got a few "older" ones back in the saddle! ~HRC ROOKIE TRAIL BLAZER AWARD~ This trophy is awarded to the HIGH POINT HRC RIDER in his or her FIRST YEAR OF TRAIL RIDING who has also competed in at least one Hanson Riding Club judged trail ride, and who has accrued the highest mileage on the same horse. ~THE HRC HIGH POINT GAITED HORSE AWARD Awarded to the gaited horse and rider combination who accumulated the most points in the Gaited Horse Class in at least one HRC horse show or affiliated show, and at least one HRC judged trail ride.                                                                                                                                                                ~HRC PRESIDENTIAL UNDER SADDLE AWARD~ Awarded to the HIGH POINT HORSE AND RIDER COMBINATION for points accumulated in Pleasure, Trail Classes, and Equitation at our shows.  Given in memory of our founding father, Harold Hennessy whose love of, and dedication to horses & riding lives on today through the Hanson Riding Club. ~4-H HIGH POINT TRAIL RIDE AWARD Awarded to an HRC member who is also a 4-H member accumulating the most points at HRC Judged Trail Rides. ~PURINA SENIOR HORSE AWARD This Trophy is Sponsored and Provided by Purina and Hanson Grain.  This is awarded to the high point senior horse over the age of 15, (ridden by an HRC member) with the most points accumulated in the Purina Senior Horse Class at our shows. ~HRC GOOD HANDS EQUITATION AWARD Awarded to the HIGH POINT EQUITATION RIDER (Any Age Division) from points accumulated in Walk/Trot And the Green Horse Divisions. ~HRC OVERALL HIGH POINT HORSE OR PONY AWARD This award is based strictly on the Horse or Pony's accumulative points from ANY and ALL classes, not just divisions (Games and Miscellaneous Classes to Count).  Multiple riders can accrue points on the animal, BUT every rider MUST be an HRC Member In Good Standing on the day he or she rides the horse!
